Fleeing the love police.

Down in Arizona, Mitt’s campaign is co-chaired by a border patrol agent named Paul Babeu. Babeu’s got himself a little following down there by being a real hard-ass on immigration. Here he is in 2010 with John McCain talking about needing to “complete the danged fence:”

In fact, Paul became so popular he decided to run for Congress in 2012 from Arizona’s 4th, an especially conservative district that just loves to hate on Mexicans. Touting himself as a “true conservative,” Paul was locked in a close GOP primary. And then, someone told a little secret. Specifically, Jose, the guy blurred out in this photo with Babeu:

Turns out, Paul is gay – and in love with this 34 year old Mexican immigrant. Paul’s campaign tried to keep it under wraps by telling Jose that if he ever talked, they’d send his illegal ass back across the border. Jose didn’t sign and everything started to unravel when Paul’s – excuse me studboi1′s - enticing profile on Adam4Adam started making its way around the internets:

Heartfelt texts between the two:

Paul’s campaign is done, according to just about everyone in Arizona. Which makes sense – after all, he’s a hard core Republican and his party fights to block gay marriage legalization efforts all over the country – including Arizona.

Mitt, as you’d expect, promptly cut ties with Paul because of who he chooses to love and the sheriff resigned. But it makes us wonder: How many hypocritical conservative GOP politicians will be “outed” and ousted before the republican party abandons the homophobic, xenophobic, bigoted, racist, ignorant views that prevent them from adopting coherent, modern, policy positions on social issues?
